First News Wins TWO Awards!

Children across the country are celebrating after First News, the only national newspaper written especially for them, picked up TWO awards in the 2012 Newspaper Awards on 25 April.

First News, which is read by more than one million children every week, won Best National Newspaper of the Year (weekly) and Niche Market Newspaper of the Year.

Editor Nicky Cox: "This isn't just a victory for First News but for children nationwide. For six years we have been producing a fantastic quality newspaper for children so they can grow up with an interest in the world around them. This will enable them to develop into engaged, motivated citizens who Britain can be proud of. If you want to talk to children, talk to First News."

Piers Morgan said: "I am so proud of First News. We are leading the way for the newspaper industry, growing the next generation of newspaper readers. More than one million children have the newspaper habit because of First News."

First News was a consistent high scorer among the judges in the 2012 Newspaper Awards. They said it was a "clear winner", describing it as an excellent newspaper for children and young people: "A fantastic paper; bright, attractive and clearly knows its market."
